Bait-ul-Aman Mosque, meaning “House of Peace,” serves the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Connecticut. The mosque is located in Meriden and is listed by the Ahmadiyya mosque directory under the Hartford congregation. Historical community information states that the Connecticut Ahmadiyya chapter was established in the late 1980s and that the mosque property in Meriden was acquired in 2007. Bait-ul-Aman serves as a center for worship, religious education, youth and family activities, community service, and outreach. The mosque has also become known for promoting reconciliation and interfaith understanding, particularly following a 2015 hate-crime attack in which shots were fired into the building; members of the congregation later reached out to the attacker and encouraged dialogue and reconciliation.
