In 1986, a church building in Bedford, Ohio, was purchased by Dr. Syed Jaffer Ali under the full guidance of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV (may Allah have mercy on him). Although the local Jamaat had been active since the early 1930s, there was neither a mosque nor a permanent missionary in the area until 1989.
