Fath-e-Azeem Mosque, meaning “The Great Victory,” is an Ahmadiyya Muslim Community mosque located in Zion, Illinois. The mosque was officially inaugurated on September 30, 2022 by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V, who delivered his Friday Sermon from the mosque. A special inauguration reception was held the following day, attended by civic leaders, faith representatives and local residents.The mosque holds particular historical significance for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community because of Zion’s connection to John Alexander Dowie and the early-20th-century religious challenge associated with Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. The Community therefore chose the name Fath-e-Azeem — “The Great Victory.” The new mosque replaced an older Ahmadiyya center in Zion that had served the local congregation since the 1980s.Today, Fath-e-Azeem Mosque serves the local Ahmadiyya Muslim Community as a center for worship, religious education, community activities and public outreach. The current Ahmadiyya mosque directory also lists Quran classes, youth programs, Tafsir classes, community service and outreach among its activities.
